Back in September, Beautiful Game Studios announced that they had formed a new partnership with Shanda Games in China to explore the opportunities to do something new with the Championship Manager brand.

In the time since then we have worked very closely with Shanda and are pleased to announce a brand new project - Championship Manager: World of Football, a massively multiplayer, free to play version, online version of Championship Manager.

The game is being built and designed from the ground up by Beautiful Game Studios with Shanda Games, combining the expertise of both studios to give fans in China a new way to experience Championship Manager online. The game will be launching initially in China in the coming months.

“We’re delighted to be able to confirm our MMO project with Shanda Games Limited, Championship Manager: World of FootballTM,” said Roy Meredith, General Manager Championship Manager. “Everyone at the studio is very excited to be working on this game, Championship Manager: World of FootballTM will offer Championship Manager fans new and old something different, whilst remaining faithful to the series.”

Championship Manager: World of Football will initially launch in China within the year, but stay tuned for more information about the future plans for the game in the coming months.
